Aubray Dion Grandison Sentenced – Assistant State Attorney Christopher Patterson

PRESS RELEASE

(Escambia County, Florida) On March 11, 2025, Circuit Court Judge Linda Nobles sentenced Aubray Dion Grandison to 25 years in state prison for Attempted Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Shooting at, into or Within an Occupied Vehicle, Fleeing to Elude, Escape, Criminal Mischief, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Consistent with Florida’s 10-20-Life statutes, Grandison will serve ten of his 25-year sentence day-for-day.

On the morning of February 20, 2023, Grandison stole a Dodge pickup truck from a Garden Street gas station. The owner of the vehicle saw Grandison leaving the parking lot in his truck and jumped in the truck bed. As Grandison sped down the road he fired multiple shots at the victim who was trapped in the truck bed. Eventually, Grandison slowed the vehicle, and the victim was able to jump out. Grandison got out of the truck and fired multiple shots at the victim as he fled. Law enforcement attempted to stop the truck, but Grandison refused and accelerated through a residential area. Escambia County Sherriff’s Deputies were forced to utilize a precision immobilization technique (PIT) to stop the vehicle. After being apprehended, Grandison later tried to escape from law enforcement custody on foot.

At the sentencing hearing, prosecuting attorney, Christopher Patterson argued, “Mr. Grandison showed he had no regard for life. He attempted to murder a father of three in cold blood and sped through the community with no regard for anyone’s safety.”

The arrest and investigation were conducted by the Pensacola Police Department and Escambia County Sherriff’s Office. Assistant State Attorney Christopher Patterson prosecuted the case on behalf of Ginger Bowden Madden, State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit of Florida.
