Michael Johnson Sr. Sentenced for Sexual Battery of Child – Assistant State Attorney, John Bennett Traylor

PRESS RELEASE

(Escambia County, Florida) On April 16, 2025, Circuit Court Judge John Miller sentenced Michael Johnson Sr. to 30 years in Florida’s state prison followed by 10 years of probation on charges of Sexual Battery While in Position of Familial or Custodial Authority, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Child by Impregnating a Child Under Sixteen Years of Age, and Battery of a Child by Expelling Certain Fluids.

Between June 1 and September 1, 2023, the Defendant sexually battered a child victim on more than one occasion. The Defendant was in a romantic relationship with the victim’s aunt, who was the child’s legal guardian. The victim became pregnant as a result of the Defendant’s actions. Paternity test of the victim, the newborn, and the Defendant showed that the Defendant was the biological father of the newborn.

The investigation and arrest were conducted by members of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
