PRESS RELEASE
Statement from State Attorney Ginger Bowden Madden
(Okaloosa County, Florida) On Christmas Eve, 2022, Renee Hamilton received the devasting news that her husband, Corporal Ray Hamilton had been killed in a senseless act of violence by Timothy Paul Price Williams.
In recent weeks, the defense made an offer to the State that the defendant would enter a plea in exchange for the State not seeking death. This offer was relayed to Hamilton’s family and after much thought and consideration, the family indicated they wanted to accept this offer.
Today, Timothy Paul Price Williams entered a plea of GUILTY to First Degree Murder, waiving all rights to appeal, ensuring finality, and sparing the family from reliving the tragic events of Ray’s death in a courtroom for years to come.
Chief Assistant State Attorney Bridgette Jensen and Assistant State Attorney Trey Myers worked in close consultation with the Hamilton family throughout the prosecution of this case to make certain the outcome reflects their wishes while holding the accused fully accountable for his heinous act.
Sentencing has been set for August 28, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., at the Okaloosa County Courthouse Annex Extension, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
