Jimmy Forrest Robinson III Indicted for First Degree Murder by Illegal Distribution of Controlled Substances – Assistant State Attorney, Mark Alderman

On July 29, 2025, Jimmy Forrest Robinson III was indicted for First Degree Murder by Illegal Distribution of Controlled Substances. Robinson was previously arrested for this charge on July 9, 2025, and is being held without bail in the Santa Rosa County Jail. The case is set for docket day on September 16, 2025.

On March 3, 2022, Derek Beckman was found deceased at his residence and the Medical Examiner’s Office determined that his cause of death was due to acute fentanyl toxicity. The investigation by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Derek Beckman had purchased narcotics from Jimmy Forrest Robinson III on the day that Mr. Beckman passed away.

The arrest and investigation were conducted by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
