(Walton County, Florida) Ginger Bowden Madden, State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit of Florida, announced that on July 31, 2025, Dr. Francis Nicoli Herrbold was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge J. Ryan Love for Sexual Battery to 8 years in prison followed by 3 years of Sex Offender Probation and designated Herrbold as a Sexual Offender.
Herrbold was convicted by a Walton County Jury for the Sexual Battery that occurred after Herrbold gained access to the victim’s stateroom through a broken emergency hatch on her yacht. The victim woke up to Herrbold sexually battering her and reported Herbold to law enforcement the next day.
The investigation and arrest were conducted by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant State Attorney Angela Liles prosecuted the case on behalf of Ginger Bowden Madden, State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit of Florida.
