Shybri Steverson Convicted of Second Degree Murder – Assistant State Attorney, Andrew McGraw

On November 19, 2025, an Escambia County jury found Shybri Steverson guilty of Second Degree Murder with a Firearm. Escambia Circuit Court Judge John Simon scheduled a sentencing hearing for December 11, 2025. Shybri Steverson faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

On November 1, 2023, Shybri Steverson shot victim Guy Dixon, Jr. after a brief conversation about a missing package. This occurred at 2305 W. Blount St. in Pensacola. The case was supported by eye-witness testimony from an individual that was present on scene.

The arrest and investigation were conducted by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant State Attorney Andrew McGraw prosecuted the case on behalf of Ginger Bowden Madden, State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit of Florida.
