Shybri Steverson Sentenced to Life in Prison – Assistant State Attorney, Andrew McGraw

PRESS RELEASE

On December 11, 2025, Circuit Judge John Simon sentenced Shybri Steverson to life in prison following his conviction for Second Degree Murder on November 19th, 2025. The charge stemmed from an incident on November 1, 2023 in which the defendant shot and killed Guy Dixon, Jr.

The trial took place over November 18th and November 19th, 2025 and a jury returned a conviction for Second Degree Murder.

The case was investigated by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and was tried by Andrew McGraw for Ginger Bowden Madden’s State Attorney’s Office.
