PRESS RELEASE
(Escambia County, Florida) On June 16, 2025, James Allan Black Jr. was sentenced to 20 years state prison by the Honorable Judge John L. Miller for Burglary of an Unoccupied Dwelling and Theft. During sentencing, Judge Miller took note of the Defendant’s extensive criminal record which includes over sixty felony convictions, twenty-nine of which were for burglary.
In February 2025, the Defendant broke into an Escambia County residence during broad daylight. The Defendant was seen on home security footage wearing a mask and circling the home. Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies located the defendant inside of the home, hiding in a closet, with some of the tenant’s property on his person. The Defendant was subsequently arrested and booked into the Escambia County Jail.
