Blaine Hertz Sentenced to 15 Years for Aggravated Battery – Assistant State Attorney, Patrick King

PRESS RELEASE

(Santa Rosa County, Florida) Ginger Bowden Madden, State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit of Florida, announces that on August 26, 2025, Blaine Hertz was sentenced by Senior Circuit Judge Nickinson to 15 years in state prison for Aggravated Battery with Great Bodily Harm. The Defendant was sentenced as a Prison Releasee Reoffender and had only been out of prison for one month at the time he committed the offense.

On February 3, 2024, in the morning hours, the Defendant repeatedly punched the victim in the face and knocked her to the ground. The unprovoked attack caused severe injuries to the Victim’s mouth and teeth. The Victim had to undergo reconstructive surgery to address her injuries.

The Defendant was convicted of Aggravated Battery after a jury trial held on August 26, 2025. The jury also found the Defendant to be a Prison Releasee Reoffender.

The Defendant previously served sentences in state prison on seven separate occasions. He was released from prison on January 3, 2024.
