PRESS RELEASE
(Escambia County, Florida) On February 17, 2026, an Escambia County Grand Jury indicted Joseph Michael Davis for First-Degree Premeditated Murder with a Weapon and Burglary of a Structure while Armed.
The indictment stems from the stabbing death of Dean Chambers which occurred on November 8, 2025, at a business on North Davis Highway.
If convicted, First-Degree Murder carries a mandatory life sentence.
The Defendant’s arraignment is scheduled for February 20, 2026, and he is currently incarcerated in Escambia County Jail with no bond.
The investigation is being handled by the Pensacola Police Department. Assistant State Attorney Charlie Britt is prosecuting this case on behalf of Ginger Bowden Madden, State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit.
