PRESS RELEASE
(Escambia County, Florida) On July 9, 2026, Circuit Judge John Simon sentenced Terriny Krepps to a total of 18 years in Florida state prison for DUI Manslaughter and DUI with Serious Bodily Injury. The Defendant entered a guilty plea to both charges as well as two additional counts of DUI with Damage to Property or Person Without Serious Injury stemming from a traffic crash on June 29, 2024, at the intersection of Gulf Beach Highway and Navy Boulevard in Escambia County.
On June 29, 2024, at 4:19 a.m., the Defendant was driving on Gulf Beach Highway and ran the red light at the intersection with Navy Boulevard. Kurt Kramer, a retired Navy veteran, was driving on Navy Boulevard toward NAS Pensacola with three passengers, Cameron Montoya, Semaj Jones and Quavon Brown. Kramer, operating as an Uber, was transporting the other three back to the base when his vehicle was struck from the passenger side by the Defendant. Kramer succumbed to his injuries on scene and was pronounced deceased by EMS personnel. Montoya suffered severe injuries which precipitated his medical discharge from the Navy. Jones and Brown suffered minor injuries. The Defendant later consented to having her blood drawn showing her BAC level of .186 two hours after the crash. Troopers also found two 12-packs of “Twisted Tea,” an alcoholic beverage, in the Defendant’s car. Defendant was 19 years old at the time of the crash and had been cited by Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for illegal possession of alcohol three weeks prior to this incident.
Judge Simon sentenced Defendant to the maximum penalty of 15 years, which includes a 4-year mandatory minimum, on the DUI Manslaughter charge, followed by three additional years for the DUI with Serious Bodily Injury. Her prison sentence will be followed by two years of probation, during which time she will be required to fulfill all statutorily required classes and community service, and permanently revoked her driver’s license.
The investigation was handled by Florida Highway Patrol. Assistant State Attorney Amy Shea prosecuted the case on behalf of Ginger Bowden Madden, State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit. Ms. Shea may be reached at 850-595-0207.
